We are recruiting Construction Cost Estimators on a 6 month contract for our global engineering client.
This is an office-based role located at their European Technology Headquarters based in Hersham with the expectation that periods will be spent on construction sites within the EMEA region, and the Contractor home office.
The successful candidate will ensure that competitive cost estimates are achieved during the bid phase of a project, and that ongoing forecasting is maintained to allow accurate decisions to be made during execution.
Job Role:
- Work as part of the construction estimating team to generate Cost Estimates various estimate classes. This will cover all aspects of construction activities, including Civils, Mechanical and E&I
- Supporting Procurement Contracting in developing and writing winning bidding and contracting strategies in support of the estimate development
- Ensuring accurate conversion of cost estimates to budgets
- Develop forms of tender (FOT)
- Supporting Project and Design strategies related to the Construction by developing cost details for alternative strategies
- Acting in the dual role of Quantity Surveyor as and when required
- Contractor Engagement and Management
- Support contractor tender review process
Qualifications / Experience Required:
- Relevant Engineering Degree underpinned with extensive experience in construction/construction estimating / QS preferred, additional on-the-job training will be given.
- A Team Player with good coordination, presentation, and report writing skills
- Results-oriented. Must be able to understand the impact of decisions/changes on construction costs
- Works autonomously, reliably communicating upwards when appropriate.
- Air separation / industrial gas plant construction experience will be highly regarded
- Extensive experience in large oil & gas capital projects is also an advantage
